John, I can't remember if you have a road or race car there. Only problem with bubble arches on road car is having to fit very wide wheels to fill them if using normal width axle. The standard rear arch will take 6" easy and 7" at a pinch so need to be at least 8" (or big spacers!) with bubbles otherwise they look a bit naff. If racing you will be probably be using wheels big enough, but the homologated 'Atlas' axle that started life on German Taunus and Transit is wider and gets over all that. But- It is also heavier, more expensive and difficult to do ratio changes on.

Headlights and front panels. Originally the oblong lamps were on the high spec road cars (incl TwinCam here) as more expensive. Then for RS and Mexico needed more light for rallying so went back to round for those models. Allowed them to fit the Cibie Biode twin reflector lamps that were the ultimate in those days.

For that reason most people go for round as more synonymous with the sporting Escorts. Also the oblong lenses getting rare now, as are the grilles for either shape. If you have good lenses and grille (or want the TwinCam look) maybe stick to oblong. If not sell them on and go for the cheaper option? (But make sure you can find a good grille as well)
