Dailysportscar interviewed Lawrence Tomlinson, Ginetta ownership the last 12 September and he answered your question there:

What is your vision for the Ginetta G57?
“It’s a car we were always going to make, a track and race car with, basically, LMP2 capabilities. And that’s where we pitch it, a car with the same power and aero capabilities as an LMP2 but for £190,000 and with air conditioning!

And where do you see the car racing?
“Well, realistically the only place it definitely can’t race is LMP2 where only four constructors got the golden key. If any race organiser is looking for an opportunity to add a fast prototype class with 6 or 10 cars at the front then my view is that this offers a great opportunity to do it at a price point perfectly appropriate to a non-ACO Championship.
“Look for instance at what VdeV are looking to do next season with the Series welcoming the older LMP2s at the front of the field with really good cars that now won’t have anywhere else to run in the next 2-3 years. That could be fantastic, and we’ll be delighted to be a part of that with a car that is at the same performance level (though rather cheaper to run!).
“Better still for anyone with an older LMP2 car, a Ginetta Zytek, or a Lola or similar, with all of its really expensive parts, not just bodywork but the engines, gearboxes, carbon brakes, shifters, honestly you’d be much better putting in a museum and buying a G57, just as fast, jut as much fun, but way, way cheaper to run and repair, a fraction of an LMP2 budget. We just want to get more people out running and racing in prototypes.”
