Manufactures got more money than privateer teams and also needs to be more successful since they have their brand at stake.

I get where you are coming from, but if they are contracted to run, they could just be running last years cars with very few $$$ spent on devlopment and salaries just to honour their contract. I am more than likely wrong, but its a thought!!
