I have to go back to 1987 when a mate asked me if I wanted to watch some racing at Snetterton. There was a catch though; I had to go trackside and help marshal and it was the Willhire 24 hour! I can remember getting soaked helping to rebuild a tyre wall at Russell at 11pm (ish) and thinking, what the flip am I doing here? After 24 tiring hours and hardly any sleep I was asking when the next meeting was.
Unfortunately, work and family have forced me to retire but it took 25 years and a lot of treasured memories.
