The 2016 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship roars into action at the Clipsal 500 in just under a months time in what promises to be yet another fast and furious race for the Pete55 Memorial Trophy.
V8 Supremo Antrodemus took time out from doctoring attendance figures to share his enthusiasm for the series in 2016, and is confident of another great year.
“2015 was such an awesome year, but for the love of god will someone beat JC Ohope!” he said. “I’m sure 2016 will be an inconceivably exciting year; I've heard whispers of some big changes about so I look forward to the whole circus rolling into Adelaide at the end of February.”
Now entering its fourteenth year on Network Ten-Tenths, this series can always guarantee close racing, dodgy officiating, and heated rivalries. The 2016 V8 Supercar Fantasy Championship Series is upon us! Gentlemen (and Gentlewomen),

Endurance Drivers
Specialist drivers will be available for Phillip Island, Bathurst and Surfers Paradise. More info below.
2. Hiring & Firing
As Team Owner/Manager, you are permitted to sack any or all of your drivers in the lead-up to a round, and replace them - so long as you don’t blow the salary cap or 3-driver limit.
To sack/hire someone, post here expressing your disappointment in your ex-employee(s), and your hopes for your new driver(s). You will only be charged a driver change if your team is different at the next round, so there is scope to change your mind if need be. The deadline for making changes is the start of first practise.
Driver changes do cost you championship points, however, as per below:
First change = free!
Second change = 50 points
Third change = 100 points
Fourth change = 150 points
etcetera, increasing by 50 points for each subsequent change.
Enduro Cup
If you wish, you may use one of your driver changes to hire some of the Sunday drivers that appear during the Enduro Cup (Phillip Island, Bathurst, and Surfers Paradise). Your driver lineup, including enduro specialists, must still fit inside the $2M salary cap, but you will be allowed an extra pilot, so you can have a maximum of
4 drivers at these three rounds. You will automatically revert to your normal driver lineup after Surfers, should you choose this option. Note that you do not have to pair up your drivers.
The price list for enduro drivers will be released once we know who they are. As an added incentive, the once-a-year brigade also come with generously discounted price tags
3. Points:
Points are the same as the real series. Whatever a driver scores at each round in real life is what that driver will receive here, including penalties. Your worst round will not be dropped. You will not receive $200 for passing 'Go'.
If you notice that your team hasn't scored as many points as you think they should have (or more than they should have
), there are a couple of likely reasons for this:
1) My maths stinks;
2) I missed your driver change;
3) I've only just realised one of your drivers got penalised somewhere along the line.
Either way, let me know and I'll fix your score so its 100% correct.
4. Other Things You Should Know As Team Owner:
- One team per person, per year.
- You don’t have to use all $2 million, but DO NOT GO OVER BUDGET!!! You will be suitably punished (ie. disqualified from the round) if I discover any creative bookkeeping.
- A driver can be chosen by more than one team - these guys are consummate professionals and are able to drive eleventeen cars simultaneously.
- Points are the same as the real series. If things don't seem to add up, feel free to point out my mathematical ineptitude.
- Round results and championship standings will be posted here following the conclusion of each round.
- After the results have been posted, you can report on your team’s performance (or lack thereof). Show us how good you are at distributing propaganda.
5. Team Announcements:
Once you’ve picked your driving line-up, give your team a name, announce some sponsors, racing numbers, liveries, grid girls/guys, mascots, overseas technical partners and any other stuff you can think of, and of course your manufacturer of choice, then post here giving a detailed description of the copious quantities of hide your team will kick in the forthcoming season.
To make it easy for me, could you please condense the propaganda into this sort of form following your press release:
Quote:
NAME: What Badge? Racing
SPONSORS: TBA
DRIVERS:
#949 David Reynolds
#494 Aaren Russell
MANUFACTURER: Merholdes

Entries are open as of now, so start issuing those press releases! Your team can be altered without penalty until first practise at Adelaide.
