My driver has run our Mk2 Escort in a few of the BTRDA rallycross events at Lydden, normally we do single venue tarmac events. We use the same tyres that we use when rallying (Kumho C03s) and you're looking at minimal wear really. We tend to use up "old" tyres for rallycross as it's just for fun. The only mods made to the car for rallycross are removal of the headlights (and put blanking plates in), put the fog light back on (you need a high viz light on the back), take out my seat and lift the suspension a bit. The Escort will do somewhere about 110 flat out (or at least it did on the old gearbox) and it's not hitting the limiter at Lydden. You'll probably get through a windscreen per event too if you're up somones chuff on the loose.
