I guess you are going to use the Stagecoach from Chichester to reach Goodwood? If you do so, there's really nothing to worry about.
Take a good pair of shoes. If it rains, the rally stage can become really muddy as well as other spectator areas. Own food and own drinks are allowed, but I haven't bothered. The Goodwood Bitter is worth tasting.
