One thing you should do if you're into racing yourself, get the latest F1 game, a steering wheel and pedals, and play the hell out of it.
You'll learn all the F1 tracks pretty well. Well, maybe not all, but the good ones. But you'll also learn racing lines and braking points and how it really all works.
Read up on all the history of the current drivers as well, so you know what their pasts are. And then start watching the old F1 races and season reviews.
