Peter, from just looking at your pictures, my opinion, not that it's worth much, is that if drivers observed the track limits they wouldn't have problems.

However, this is not just their fault. The blame must also be shared by the FIA and other local racing authorities, such as the MSA, for permitting drivers to not keep their cars between the white lines. Part of the skill set that a racing driver should possess is the ability to drive quickly between objects without hitting them.
