I think Holden may have been very clever to let Brighty go to FPR... if you think logically for a second, you let a potentially potent asset go to a team without a real direction, and they continue to wallow for a year or two till Ford gets sick of ploughing in the $$ again....
... meanwhile the $1m a year can help the new startup...
So by not stopping the guy,. Holden still neutralises the threat. Quite clever
