2014 Punta del Este Grand Prix (Uruguay)
Hi, folks! Last weekend I attended the Punta del Este Grand Prix. This time there were no international championships, just the Uruguayan Road Racing Championships.

The course is very fast, with long straights, fast esses and tight hairpins. There were over 100 cars in five classes: Superturismo (mostly 2000s VW Gol), Turismo Libre (mostly 1980s VW Gol), Superescarabajos (Beetles), Mercedes Premium Race (C 200) and Chevrolet Sonic Racing Cup.

There were too many crashes. every two laps (or half), the safety car had to be deployed. Races at Piriápolis weren't so intermitent, I think.
