How it really works is this. If you have a full season renter and based on the East coast, you run the West coast. If you are on the East Coast and have a different renter from race to race, then you don't run the West coast because the fuel bill for the truck and paying that truck driver runs that rental for the event above the normal cost that drivers think they should pay. For example, if a season seat costs let's say $40K per event then when you do a one off race drivers will only pay $40K which is not enough. If you live in the area, then you discount the seat to $35K.

Since most teams are from the East coast then the complete field for all classes would be little if any if they just didn't do the West Coast races. They literally would just run the GT and GTS classes together because you'd be around 20 cars total.
