Not such a silly comment. Look at what is at the old Baypark site and the Levin track.
We can't afford to loose the current North Island tracks as they all service grass roots as well as national motorsport events. If the media reports are true, then it will take quite a bit of money from councils in the Manawatu and Taupo to keep the tracks operating.
