It's said also that the maximum energy allowed for the hybrid systems will be raised from 500 to 1000 kj.
In order to cut down investments for this global downsizing, a single manufacturer will be chosen : Nissan and Renault are mentioned, but also Peugeot (from which GM has got 7% of capital account).

I'm very surprised that this policy of a single engine will be also applied for the GT categories ; so we could have on circuits Porsche-Nissan RSR, Ferrari-Renault 416, Corvette-Peugeot 90?, etc.

I don't have any link toward any article relating this, but a friend of mine who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows a guy who knows the President of FIA has been told about this story...

A nightmare ?
no a deceptive post... 2014 rules have 2 main objectives: 1. give a green attitude to the racing and 2. attract more manufacters with their work teams in lmp1 class (i would say that the third objective is to lower costs, but is unrealistic because with the rule changings all entries will spend a lot of money just for R&D to be competitive). Well in your opinion the rules written by you (or your friends chain) will really encourage a manufacter to enter a own developed car with an engine made by another one? (ecclestone advanced a similiar idea for standardized cosworth f1 engines for all teams in late 2008)! A rule like this promotes only a full entry of private teams.
However even the rumors reported by autosport doesn't make me happy, because it seems that cars will be selected more because of type of hybrid system than the engine... even fuel flow isn't a good new in my opinion because doesn't give the same freedom in engine set-up to the teams as happens now with air restictors
