Centrelocks are quicker to change, and they have splined drive and/or dog drive, so they also have a more positive drive, not reliant on the fixings.

The down-side (or up) is that it's only one nut, though again, there is more than one type of positive security fixing these days, unlike the old knock offs that fell off if you didn't hit them with a mallet hard enough.
