Forget the campsite culture there are plenty that don't do that but still get the magic of Le Mans. It is not like any other race - the atmosphere the history, the noise, the dark will captivate you whether or not you have a car to cheer on. ...which reminds me, a decent pair of pocket binoculars are very useful for watching pitstops and seeing what's going on inside the pit garages, especially at night...
