If you are referring to Group A BMW did race against Commodores and Mustangs and thrashed them at least until CAMS decided on a Bathurst Special Parity system in the last few years of the category.
I recall a Camaro running in GT in Australia 7-8 years ago.4-5 seconds a lap slower than the front runners.Can’t remember any such cars running in Europe or at Bathurst 12 Hour.
