The cars im talking about are the school cars at 3 Sisters, but they also used to hire out classic ff1600s to race (not sure if they are the same ones).
I dont know the year of the cars or the gearbox type but they are definatly just 4 speed with no syncro.
I managed to spin one too (it was wet) but luckily I ended up facing the right way and carried on.
