As a Dan Ric fan it has been paining me to see Max consistently looking quicker in qualifying. I did notice during the race yesterday something that suggests Dan may have reached a similar conclusion that Lauda reached against Prost, that he couldn't beat him in qualy so focussed on race set up. Did anyone else notice that the two Red Bulls were fastest in the speed trap during the race and Dan was 5km/h quicker than Max suggesting he was running with a bit less downforce on the weekend?
Of course the race results are cheering me up, even if you remove the impact of DNFs. Dan scoring an average of 14.4 points per race when he finishes. Max scoring 9.7 per race when he finishes. And even if you say Dan has profited by Max's retirements, picking up that one extra place can't explain a 5 point difference in average points scored [emoji6]
In the 4 races they have both finished they are 2 wins each although a bit more patience from Max yesterday and it should have been him finishing ahead
