A bit similar for me, only 50 odd years ago. Foot flat to the floor in my Imp along the M4 in the dead of night from Chiswick to Heathrow, being passed at huge velocity by one of the Wyer GT40s being road tested between Slough and Chiswick prior to going to Le Mans.
Obviously wouldn't happen nowadays, but back then there were no speed restrictions on the motorways.
