This is interesting...
...I'd have thought that whilst it may not be true, the perception matters more in marketing. If people attach an item with aspects of life or emotions of any kind, that matters more than what reality may suggest, and will continue to do so until enough time and effort (noise?) is made by truth-tellers so that the general public opens their eyes.
