Alfa Romeo Tipo C

In the last two days I have been investigating the Tipo C, the Alfa Romeo answer to the German independently sprung Grand Prix cars. Built in 1935 and 1936, these came with eight and twelve cylinder engines. Reportedly only six were built. It was not quite as successful as the Tipo B, although Nuvolari scored some wins.
With Alfa Romeo's racing records destroyed, the history of these cars is sketchy. From what I discovered at least three 'survived', which is quite remarkable because in this unlimited displacement, but limited weight category, physical strength was not one of the cars' strong features.

Hopefully someone else can add more information.
