They are correct, but them's the rules. You adapt or you get left behind.
Let's not forget that the fact the 919 uses batteries (that can store and release all of the allocated energy in one discharge) plays into this as well. If Audi and Toyota were in the same ERS classes but were using batteries I guarantee that they would be closer in qualifying.
Next year's qualifying sessions are going to be fascinating.
