I know he won FF championship, and went very well in Formula Holden in 94 in a much older car compared to his competitors.
He is a great driver - no doubt.
But in my opinion, because he spent so much time in V8's (from 94 to the end of 96) he had changed his driving style.
And ofcourse he was an established V8 driver - he won the championship didn't he?? and bathurst?? and sandown??
And ofcourse he was a full-time V8 driver - he was full-time at HRT.....
