Indeed - if MS had managed in the first three races to pick up a second place here and a couple of thirds there we wouldn't be having this discussion, because he'd only be a few points adrift. Provided Kimi doesn't have a three or morerace spell without scoring Michael is going to have a very hard time clawing back.
