Won't that result in the revs dropping too slowly when you change gear? It'll be like having a heavy flywheel.
DIY fly-by-wire is certainly an ambitious project! Apart from getting working well enough to
improve driveability rather than impair it (which most of the road systems seem to do - I find them very non-intuitive) I'd be seriously concerned about getting the failure mode to be safe (throttles closed).
