Paul Laskazeski

Just wanted to hear peoples opinion on a one P. Laskazeski, and whether or not they have heard of him.

He won the 2005 NSW FF series by a very comfortable margin, won the rookie of the year award, was the youngest ever winner of the NSW FF championship and in the 2 rounds where the NSW entrants were combined with the national series (Eastern Creek/Oran Park) he qualified 6th/3rd, and finished the races in DNF/3rd , 8th/4th and 6th/3rd for a final round position of 8th/3rd.... ahead of many of the regular national drivers.

He will be in the 2006 national FF championship, in the CAMS rising star/borland racing team, and i think he is a star of the future.

If i had $50,000 lying around, i know who i would be choosing to sponsor as a personal sponsor.

Is his nick name the DUDE. from what I have been told is that he is super quick but sometimes does not like to much pressure. He will go places though and super quickly but I think the full national series will challanage him. It will be interesting to see the new engines in formula fords

Who awards the CAMS rising star - is there a criteria ?

Sorry to say, who is this guy & how could I have heard of him, even, why did he get the CAMS award over the guy in Tassie.

The International Karting Committee, which is part of the Australian Karting Association, were approached by CAMS to nominate several karters who they considered were possible rising stars.
There was some criteria regarding age. From memory, I think the drivers had to be between 15 and 18 years of age. However, Paul Laskazeski was the only driver put forward from New South Wales.
CAMS agreed and the rest is history.
Good luck to Paul and I'm a great supporter.

Speaking of CAMS Rising Stars.... keep an eye on the new crop... especially Jake Williams... saw him at the A1... first formula ford race.... was setting fastest laps...

CAMS rising star information is

HERE!

Supposing you actually wanted to look and care, rather than go for a 'why-the-flick-should-I-care?' attidue.

MickAU has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The other dude who got the Rising Star with Williams, Lindbom, beat him to a CIK title last year and won back to back CIK titles - the only other one to do that was Briscoe several years ago... he's quick and was impressive in the CAMS tests apparently.

What happened to this guy? Saw him take a test with GRM in 2011 but nothing since.

In 2008 I believe he had the same sponsor that Mostert carried in Championship winning year.
