Brands Paddock Plan 27 March 2010

I just noticed that MSVR have released the paddock plan for the weekend of the 27/28 March and theres a note that all trailers have to be parked on the rally stage and before parking up n th paddock drivers/teams need to report to the MSO ???

Any ideas what this is all about ?

Its going to be a busy meeting with lots of cars. Therefore they're trying to maximise space and make sure that everyone is parked where they should be.

The MSO is the paddock office but the scrutineering bay.

Does Kent have a problem with Pikeys ?
I love the comment from MSVR that you might want to fit a trailer clamp !

Yes but probably no more than anywhere else. Around that area they wouldn't bother about clamps as they either drag them off with the clamp attached or lift with a Hiab.
I do hope the MSV aren't going to be making a habit of this plus how is this meeting any more busy than any other?

Wouldnt it be better if they enforced the private parking better, so that the paddock resembles a paddock rather than the car park.
I hire my trailer and it wont be leaving my sight, if it dont stay with me in the secure confines of the paddock area then i will have to think of withdrawing.
And isnt this also really short notice?????

I doubt MSV would want to make a habit of it Tim as there will be extra cost to them of hiring the parking team.

Part of the 'busy' issue is that we expected an entry of 40-48 Production BMW's, we've ended up with 70. Plus, whereas in previous times TTRS had a fair number of 'duplicate' entries from PBMW, this time there aren't, so that's more cars to fit in.

It all worked very well at the DTM meeting last year - the paddocks looked so much tidier than usual without all the usual "non-support vehicles".

Someone mentioned trailers on the rally circuit - the latest paddock plan doesn't show that - it shows them up the hill well behind the Kentagon.

It's a bit ironic that some (not aimed at you Tim) bemoan the poor grids in Club racing, yet when the meeting is full with healthy grids..............

We solved the problem at the last DTM support round by having stickers saying "Support Vehicle A" on the covered trailer and towing 4x4. At the gate I was able to say with confidence that I had only brought one support vehicle - it happened to be articulated like the many others.

Like you the trailer contains most of the spares and consumables. The 4x4 takes the tools and nut/bolt selections etc.

I suppose we are part to blame for this by the way we park up when in the middle of the paddock but then again the paddock isn't marked out very well and a lot more space could be utilised if someone with half a brain marked the paddock out in lines that take a car or motor home with trailer and a bit of space to park the race car behind rather than the large sprawling blobs we have in the middle at the moment.
To I get the prize for longest sentence of the day?

So far

My reading of the paddock plan is that Saturday only competitors can put their trailer on the Rally Stage: Weekend or Sunday only competitors put trailers in the yellow Car Park (marked Red on the plan).

Camping is available for all in the Grey Car Park (behind the Hailwood Suites).
