SPA SPRING CLASSIC
Peter Auto 2nd meeting of the season. Includes their new (and controversial in some quarters) Euro F2 races as well as normal grids.
Expect also the Touring car race to be into the night on Saturday. Nice. |

Yes, the circuit isn't as well lit as Le Mans! The SLR has done Spa 6 so has extra lighting available.
The 2 Touring car races are early evening and 2300hrs from memory, which will provide a challenge for anyone suffering problems in the first..... Big grids though (except new F2 looking poor)- and still over a month to go! Pray the weather Gods give us Jarama weather or better, otherwise the long days are going to be hard work..... |

Mmm, the possibility of this turning into a 'long weekend' is getting nearer the truth, as will be there a day earlier than normal to do some testing......
Please please may it not be wet and cold...... |

Couple of quick 'Cologne' Capris, so possibly one of them to win the two races if they hold together! |

Return to see what gives in the F2 as my B40 is not ready for GB and may use it later in year and some bloke is interested in Pre A 356 so not chancing that with a set to between GB and Will! |

Yes Mike, took advantage of a fifteen minute break, but couldnt get around too much.Lexus was the last car I saw!Nice is an understatement but I think there is a likeness to the M5 in side view.
Nice driving car in standard form as well. |

Well, we're still here. One more race late this afternoon so at least not another early start! The two days scorchio followed by two days cold and wet turned into just a 'nothing' weather day yesterday, better for racing at least. Today looks more of the same....
Eventful last 24hrs, withdrew Morgan from 2hr race last night after 30 mins due to a possible safety related steering issue. A mystery not solved despite pulling almost the whole car to bits over last two days! Qualifying for the new car was also 'up and down' with teething problems, but it's on the grid. Was P4 after the damp session, but dropped back a bit later in the dry. Fingers crossed.... |

From what I can see, both SLR and 356 had a DNF, 8 laps for the Morgan and 14 for the Porsche. Will be better next time.

Interesting evening
Enjoyed the weekend with the Elva 160GT starting in 26 place and got up to tenth in race and first in class Unfortunately oil union broke with seven minutes to go and that was that Not really used for past two years.the car lapped in mid 2 50's Forgot about the endless time it takes scrutes to do cars and the cars being held in Parc Ferme for an hour after the race until a cold midnight for no good reason whilst there was a squabble over wheel sizes of :2 litre 911's Several cars were congregated at end of area and looking at owners it seemed these were the Brexit cars! Peter Auto are still the number one organisers but bits of weekend are character builders for those involved. |

John, did you hear about someone in troubles with his 2017 racing licence but having already race this season?
Many cars of the HTC out during night race and some penalties regarding the pit stop window. Yes, they are #1 with a lot of cars to scrute and check after the race. La rançon du succès. |

No idea about it or know who it is.Few of them could be excused driving for a few months. Think it comes from being prats in the slower of 2 litre 911's
We were in 2 hour 60's GT and Sports Car thing and just the odd problem but finishing at 10 pm and getting from the circuit at midnight is to long. |
