Engine inspection and fault reporting
Can anyone please recommend me a company that specialises in engine inspection and failure reporting, needs to be respectable and have a good track record?

Is this a new dispute or the old one?

Unfortunately a new one, engine has gone again but this time for a different reason and I need to determine who or what is at fault, 3rd rebuild in 9 months!

do it yourself, but perseverance is the name of the game, last catastrophic failure I had was 3 years ago, took me over 3 months to work out what caused it (I had a pile of very bent and broken bits)
still awaiting revenge on the guilty party |

It's surprising how quickly you can become expert once you try it yourself. At least then you only have yourself to blame when it goes pear shaped.

There may be a few things one could ask yourself first:
What kind of punishment was placed on the engine? How many HOURS on the engine? RPM ranges, how often for how long? Oil system, dry sump, accu-sump, oil pressure? Cooling- How effective was your cooling? Was it enough cooling? the tune- etc etc |

investing £100 or so in simple to use measuring equipment and spending a few hours learning how to use it properly will mean when people spout numbers and data at you its possible to actually check, for free! |

Also, for most engines, someone somewhere has written a book about them. Well worth the time learning a little more about what you're spending all that money on. May not help immediately, but sooner or later you'll be able to ask the right questions and know if the answers are sensible.
