My favourite driver of all time. He had the completely unique ability to excel on both sides of the parapet, as an engineer and as a driver. Remarkable stuff. RIP. My commiserations to his large and very accomplished family.

An absolute legend of F1, international motorsport and also motorsport engineering!

That fact remains that he's still the only bloke to have won in a car after his own name. Fantastic achievement!

Sir Jack was an incredibly determined and passionate individual and the head of one of the best racing families the world has seen with 3 top line racing sons and now a 3rd generation making their mark..

R.I.P Sir Jack Brabham and condolences to all his family.

Terribly sad news. You have made a good point about his practical input - I've wondered at times how far Cooper would have gone if he hadn't been in the team. A man who called a spade a shovel, and had a heart the size of a mountain.

RIP Black Jack.

Sir Jack is a true legend of motorsport. A triple world champion, the first of those won by pushing his car over the line, and the third won in his own car.
I always dreamed that I would get to meet him and shake his hand.

Rest in peace.

He died peacefully at home. He still seemed well these last few years. Sadly his time has come.

Now his family legend continues with his sons and grandsons. RIP

Always felt Jack was a bit overlooked when discussing the pantheon of driving greats. Throw in the engineering achievements and you have a rare combination. My respects.
