NME should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Jean De Pourtales

Does anyone knows how Jean De Pourtales lost his left hand ?

For those that dont know what i am talking about. This French driver - Jean De Pourtales - currently racing in the Euro 3000 series, doesnt have his left hand.

He uses a metal "hand" (more like a hook) to grab the wheel.

I wonder if someone knows what happen to him that caused that handicap.

As a driver it is amazing how fast one can drive with only one "good" hand.

By the way ... do you remeber Thomas Danielsson ?

Cheers to Jean for his strong passion and courage !

Thanks for your post, I'd completely forgotten about this even though he's been racing in Italian F3000 and Euro 3000. I think I read about the fact back when he was in Formula Renault, but don't know how he lost his hand. You have to say he's done extremely well considering the disability.
