Will Super Aguri's new car do the trick?
I'm laughing before I even start typing.
I mean come on, the team barely run a GP without one car retiring, the only time they're not on the back row is when someone swaps an engine, and they chop and change drivers like there's no tomorrow. I don't think it was worth the money, and they were the reason that the F1s didn't go to Spa this year. |

It's very easy to criticise and look down on any new team, but they should only really be judged on the pace of their new car after a few races.

I think they'll surprise people, I really do.
Aguri have done well from very little preparation time and a shoddy 2002 car in my view. And Sato has been inspired. |

Hopefully, together with Midland, they can drag themselves a little nearer to the midfield runners.Something that must certainly be an achievable goal. |

What they have managed with a hack car some four years out of date (four months would be an age in F1) is remarkable.
The new car is a heavy re-work of the old, so don't expect too much, but they will at least continue to gather some small amount of respect; which is what they need to build sponsorship and go for a proper full new car next year. |

I think Suzuki should have thought a bit more heavily before deciding, at almost literally the last minute, to run a team. They were way to unprepared, and should have either waited until 2007, or started planning earlier.
I mean, there's always going to be one team that has to be the worst, and the other teams are so much more professional that Super Aguri doesn't deserve to be running up front. |

if he didn't enter when he did he probably wouldn't have had a chance in 2007
they've done pretty well for such an unprepared team. what's there level of professionalism based on? |

What on earth have Aguri got to do with Spa?!
I see no reason yet to criticise them that much. They've done a damn good job so far being so close to the Midlands. So, to answer your question, they may get there later in the season, but I doubt it'll happen yet, particularly as Midland appear to have found a little bit of pace. |

I am assuming he means that Spa couldn't accomodate an extra team, and that this is the reason that they are rebuilding the pits and can't host this years race.
I can't say it rings a bell. |

Personally I think the new car will move Super Aguri forward. How much is hard to tell, they will probably be competitve with the Midland's and Torro Rosso machines though, at least Sato should be. IMO.

It's not so funny.I guarantee that on the day that the Belgium GP should have taken place that it will be pouring with rain at Spa.

Yes, because of Aguri the pit lane at Spa could not hold them and had to be rebuilt. What confuses me is the fact that Spa holds 24h races that hold like 40 cars...

Yes, what confuses me is why can't they use the La Source pit lane?

Considering the max limit for F1 is 24 cars, any track on the calender should have that capacity at all times.

I can't believe this was the reason for Spa not being on the calendar this year.
As I recall, facilities were an issue, but that was overall..grandstands, all kinds of infrastructure issues, not just a pit lane thing! |

From what i understand the facilities were not up to standards and could not have building work and renovation work done in time for the calender date.

I'm sure the Super Aguri's slotted in there somewhere... Guess it's my bad if I'm wrong.

Okay, but I doubt it was the sole or even main reason.
So far this weekend, the new Aguri cars have looked fairly promising. But I still reserve judgement on any kind of idea of pace relative to the Midlands until qualifying. I see they are running a seamless-shift gearbox. How many teams are now doing this? |

Well... 19th and 21st... They must be so proud to not have the official slowest car in the field.
