What do I think??
Well for starters, we wanted to de part of the first race of this championship in Brands hatch so I mailed the A1GP organisation for some information concerning the meeting and so far one month later nothing has come back from them. If they really are serious then they better do some better promotion work!!!!! We still intend to go but probably have to find the info somewhere else, anyone out there who can help us??? Any supporting races??? what about the track, where to watch and where can you make the best pictures??? |

Looks like a good idea, not least because one man is not creaming off most of the revenue.
If it provides good racing for the TV viewer it will succeed, if it destroys the F1 Circus, then that is life. |

I think it's a horrible idea. I dislike support based on nationality but I can tolerate it in, say, the Olympics because there the competitors are generally the best in the world.
In A1 the drivers will certainly not be that. |

But it sounds like it will be entertaining.
And it'll be good to have some winter racing. |

I've been thoroughly entertained by both Grands Prix so far this season.

[QUOTE=Draven]I wouldnt be surprised if some one uses this opertunity to have a Popstars style TV contest for there national driver selection. Marketing mans dream in alot of ways.[QUOTE=Draven]
I'd watch it At the end of the day, don't we all wish we were driving these things instead of just watching 'n' waffling. Similar sort of thing happened in Aussie V8's only without the tv show. Ordainary guy got the 'Chance of a Lifetime'. Naturally he sucked, but by the end of the season he'd improved, a little. Made you want to cheer for him tho. Little off-topic, sorry. A1gp is situated cleverly in the typical 'off-season' of all open wheel.
so this can allow for CC or IRL driver cross over, and an F1 foray from a test driver or a former f1 driver. It need not compete, infact the A1gp can bolster relevance for other series as it can raise national profiles and keep the drivers in the light. the timing or rather the schedule of A1gp being in 'winter' of F1 and IRL/Champcar puts it at a place where it doesn't have to compete and be the winter superseries for the 'regular' season to pick drivers from- or train. |
