Alan Green should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rockingham 2nd/3rd July

Next months SCSA races at the oval have had the on-track action boosted by the addition of 4 races for the Porsche GB Club (2x'Club', 2x'Open' races). This is as well as the usual 2 SCSA races and the 2 Pick Up Truck races which entertained at Mallory last week.

As well as this the weekend has the backing of Motorsport News as part of their 50th anniversary celebrations, plus music on the big stage from Natasha Bedingfield, and demonstrations from the Baby Grand cars, Harley Davidsons, an American Car Club parade, aerobatics displays, and the Batmobile from the new film.

For those of you who've not marshalled the oval meetings at Rockingham before this'll be a good one to have a look at. The amount of 'faffing' that we have had previously changing infield-oval-infield-oval has been cut out with a more sensible timetable (see below). Oval rookies spend the races in the pitlane on safety/fire/clean-up duty , as well as 'normal' duties on the infield course.

Volunteers through BARC (Fred Bromley chief marshal), or PM me, Chigley, or Deadsquirrel (amongst others) if you'd like more info about the fastest race series in the country. If you can't make this one, SCSA is the first Sunday in August, September & October (September features Legends & Minis (proper Minis I believe!)).

Al.

Timetable for Sunday 3rd July
10:00 - 10:25 - Porsche Club GB "Club" Race 1 - 20 mins + 1 lap
10:30 - 10:55 - Porsche Club GB "Open" Race 1 - 20 mins + 1 lap
11:15 - 11:45 - Pickup Truck Race 1 - 30 laps
12:15 - 13:15 - SCSA MN 50 Race 1 - 60 laps
13:25 - 13:35 - Harley-Davidson/Craig Jones Display
13:35 - 13:45 - Batmobile Display
13:45 - 14:00 - American Car Club parades
14:10 - 14:40 - Pickup Truck Race 2 - 30 laps
14:50 - 15:00 - Utterly Butterley Air Display
15:00 - 16:00 - SCSA MN 50 Race 2 - 60 laps
16:10 - 16:20 - American Car Club parades
16:20 - 16:45 - Porsche Club GB "Club" Race 2 - 20 mins + 1 lap
16:50 - 17:15 - Porsche Club GB "Open" Race 2 - 20 mins + 1 lap

post weekend bounce...

Forgot to put on the original message that all day Saturday is practise day for all races, so marshals needed for then to.

I can recommend a couple of good b&b's / eating / ale houses if needed.

If I can persuade my girlfriend to give marshalling a try this Sunday at Rockingham, can I just sign her on on Sunday morning, or do I have to send the chief marshal any details in advance?
I've already got my second ticket to get her in. Probably won't get a decision out of her as to whether she's going to marshal or not until that morning

I don't think it will be a problem just turning up on Sunday morning. I am sure Fred will welcome her with open arms!!!!

The more the merrier, if everyone brings someone with them we will manage to man the circuit.
