Nordscheilfe - but can it really be consider a proper race track these days (only one race a year - okay, I know Le Mans only has one race a year...). I can't really imagine racing wheel-to-wheel 'round there - the track is the challenge, rather than any other cars around you.
So if not the Nordscheilfe, Charade. Spa is good but so neutered to what it was even 7 years ago, when I first drove it. |

A really tough question, and I can't find a answer in the singular, but I do have my own list of candidates as such;
Charade, France Nordschleife, Germany Oulton Park, UK Spa, Belgium Suzuka, Japan The Osterreichring, Austria and Monza, Italy |

I wonder what the best bend would be?? What makes a good bend? Technical trickiness? Scare factor?
Eau Rouge? Blanchemont 2? Craners? That One At Zandvoort Which Is Uphill And A Bit Right Before A Brake And A Bigger Right? |

The "old" Spa. The old North Ring. But Mosport blows Laguna out of the tub. Elkhart is up there to for N.A. tracks and the food is great. How can you tell I am Cdn.

Carried over from previous post,I think Spa is still the place to go ,but yes it is all very safe in comparison to the Nordschliefer,"wheel to wheel",its the only real challenge in europe.Although lets not rule out Dijon,nice and technical, bit of a long straight,good for slipping though!

I'm shocked no one has even mentioned the single greatest track in the world - the Isle of Man TT Mountain Course. 37.73 miles and 270 corners! That's a circuit!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IehOmHv9nUo

IMHO the poll is slightly flawed.
It should be which is the worlds best Permanent race track, or perhaps Non-Permanent race track. |

A flawed poll, surely not?
Best Non-Permanent? Old Spa. Best Permanent? New Spa. |

Bathurst was only used once per year for much of the last 10 years and yes it is a great track, dangerous and unforgiving but is not not the greatest in my opinion. Nurburgring is used every year for the greatest 24hr of all, plus track days along with testing and open days. |

I'm surprised no one has picked the new Hockenheim, New Fuji, Sepang or Shanghai.
Ha Ha Ha, If you didn't know my sarcasm meter was set to full. Mr Tilke could do with a look at this thead IMO. Although Turkey is half decent. Old Nurburgring Bathurst Le mans Spa are my top 4 |
