Way to go Bayne! Such a tense finish, but that man was unflappable somehow.
Montys day seemed to take a dive once McMurray turned him round (must be some kind of record for amount of times turning his own teammate round in a calendar year) so god knows how he ended up in the mix at the end. |

A few things....
I don't like this two car draft/slipstreaming
Now having said that observations - Bayne looks like the real deal, he's solid on the shorter tracks, I don't think this will be his last victory and the shorter tracks depend less on "budget". Great day for the Wood Brothers who are one of the last remaining teams from the 60's and 70's. One of the original Blue Oval teams! So congrats to Bayne the youngest driver to win at Daytona, the Wood Brothers for being the class act they are and Ford for obvious reasons - Montoya had a solid finish and that's important. I think its more important for him to be in a solid points position to challenge for the championship than to win Daytona at this point. Continue this next week with another solid Top 5/10 finish like he was doing in 2009, pour it on at his strongest tracks, finally win at Indy and we'll see where we are at Watkins Glen... I hardly care about the rest of them, save for Ambrose who I think is in a better position at Petty believe it or not than at JGT. He think he can dominate at the road courses and go for three in a row at Watkins Glen later this summer. |

WHO?????????????????????????
This kid actually isn't even old enough to have a beer to celebrate. Great result, I was on the edge of my seat for that. The two-by-two thing was just odd. Great to see the Wood Brothers not only still around, but in victory circle. robert |

Massive shame for Ambrose getting caught up again but very happy for Bayne and the Wood Brothers taking out the 500..
At least it seems Ambrose is in the top 35 in points, so worth while getting him back out there http://www.nascar.com/races/cup/2011...nofficial.html |

No. Bayne, Wallace, etc who scored 0pts do score points in the owners pionts.
Which means Ambrose is not in the top 35 in the points |

Small fact, the pace car led the most laps at 60 whereas the nearest competitor was Newman with 37 laps!

Was my pleasure. It's wonderful to be able to interact with fellow Nascar fans all over the word. We should have it every week that Sprint Cup races

I was not able to watch the full race until yesterday.
Great to see Bayne and Wood Brothers in victory circle! Hope this will give Wood Brothers a boost so they return fulltime in the coming years. Difference between a real talented driver like Bayne and someone like Ragan. |
