Guess who's back for Japan? Hideki Mutoh will run for AFS / Schmidt at Motegi, sponsored by Honda Formula Dream.

Oh, god! I can't believe that Buddy Rice is actually back! And it's with no less than Panther. Of course, the deal is for Kentucky and Las Vegas. No 5 million check for him.

It's great to see JR and Buddy will join together at Panther Racing again as a 2 car entry for the final 2 ovals of this season. They will be a force on those ovals for sure. Here's hoping for a good showing of those oval specialists.
Mutoh is an interesting choice, especially since Schmidt is signed with Honda already and Sato seems linked with KV who are rumored to move to Chevy. AFS/Schmidt are probably auditioning him in action for a full season ride for next year during the Motegi event, adding a crowd pleaser for the Japanese fans in the process. But what SSM really needs for next season is an experienced driver of the allrounder variety. Mutoh, though, seems to be more of an oval specialist to me. |

Great to see Mutoh back, but even better to see my man Rice back! Been a fan of him ever since his debut in the IRL

Keep an eye on Rice and JR at Kentucky...Panther's setups there have been great the past two years...Carpenter should have won two years ago and last year, Wheldon and Carpenter ran 1-2, but had to make ver late pit stops for a splash of gas and Helio came from nowhere to win a fuel mileage race.

Michael Cannon and Buddy Rice are two of the best things that have happened to J.R. Hildebrand recently. It had to be hard to learn with no teammate to lean on and the worst engineering staff in the IndyCar Series in terms of road and street circuits.

Does anyone else find it funny that when IndyCar loses Danica Katherine Legge gets a program together? I don't remember if it happened just that way, but when Champ Car lost Danica (graduating to IndyCar instead of Champ Car) Lady Katherine gets a ride... Chris |

Well, she does not have her ride yet. At this point, it is fairly hard to say who has already got a ride with which team and who has not, especially considering that half the grid does not have an engine contract yet. What is the current status on the Lotus engine? Has Randy Bernard's visit to them gained any results?

To get taken seriously, she'll probably need to skim down into a bikini and get airbrushed into the pages of Maxim magazine to get any attention.

I belive NASCAR is Stock Car Racing, and DTM is Touring Car Racing. Difference. And besides, there are Americans who know what DTM is. They don't ned it to be explained.

Is Paul Tracy going to drive the Dragon car in Vegas in a partnership with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, just like Ho-Pin Tung did in Sonoma? If so, the #98 car of Dan Wheldon, the Herta/Curb/Agajanian/Schmidt entry, will not only have one experienced teammate in the #77 Schmidt entry, the FAZZT car of Alex Tagliani, but two.
Go figure where the experience can lead them ;-) |

Ironic that 'Stock' as in 'Stock Cars' used to mean just that! 427ci V8 Cars that are Stock 'Manufacturers Models' albeit without hub caps and the addition of a roll cage!...Perhaps these days it now refers to the 'stock modified parts' available from Speed Shops, like 'stock tubular chassis', 'stock reproduction body panels' etc etc?
Sorry if this is off topic, above posts just got me thinkin! |

Indycar.com reports the driver of the #22 car (Justin Wilson's entry at Dreyer & Reinbold) for the 2011 season's final 2 rounds will be Townsend Bell.
