In the latest regulations, rear wings are to be clipped, to be reduced to three elements only. Williams is complaining about this already as this sets them back, as they had eight elements at Suzuka lst year. However, if it sets everybody back, then I don't understand the gripe. More importantly, there will be less disturbance behind the cars and (sic) better chances for slipstreaming and overtaking. This is an answer to my prayers as I have been advocating this for the past two years, like a broken record.

Exactly!
This is a good rule change, F1 has to start producing more exciting races, or it will start dramatically leaking fans to CART once they get their marketing straightened out. |

Please don't tell me this is some cruel joke!
Has the FIA gone mad? What next, "slick" dry weather tyres!? |

LOL
Well I don't think it will hinder the teams a lot. For example DC ran two elements extra in front of his three piece rear wing at Spa where Mika ran without these elements just his three piece rear wing. Ironically Coulthard had less downforce due to lower angles of attack on his 5 elements. But considering the FIA's speed of doing things it's a huge step forward indeed |

Let's hope they also ban exotica from the brake lining materials and we might even have proper braking distances!
Gosh, couple that with increased slipstreaming and slicks and we might even start to have fun again and wonder who is going to win. Roll on April 1st. |
