last years wild cars was announced in october and was speculated long before that.

With less than 4 weeks to the race, i would be extremely doubtful

Brock wasn't overly interested in his last drive either. In fact seemed rather relieved when the car was binned before he had the chance to drive. Only difference in the argument is brand loyalty.

Nothing stacks up to NASCAR....30 odd races a year, over a million in prize money potentially to be made over a year....we're just some backwater championship, without whom he would have never become the household name he did all those years ago. All the Ford fans treat him like Jesus for finally winning a championship after how long....

I all honesty he should have just said I'm giving it up at the end of 2014 and quietly rode into the sunset. But that was never going to happen with all his fans here and the expectation that needs to drive in this championship and save the poor Ford brand....

I've heard this is more of enticement to get Canto to move across from PRA for the enduros (although I'm guessing PRA give him more hope of a decent finish)

All the Ford fans?? Nice generalisation. Like saying all Holden fans believe a similar thing about Lowndes... The same guy the Holden fanbois fell over worshipping when at HRT, thoroughly hated when at Ford, and now fawn over now he's back in a Holden. And yet I've never seen anyone wander around the pits in a t-shirt proclaiming either Ambrose or Lowndes are god......Deluded fanbois are everywhere in all camps.

Reading through a few forums over the years quite a few Fordies didn't like Ambrose. Far more (including his fans) thought it was dumb to come back. Turns out they were right. He seems to be more comfortable in a driver mentor role anyway.

Doesn't make a lot of sense going from a strong seat to something rather lacking. Erebus might be offering more money but where is it coming from if the team is strapped for cash?
