It doesn't look to be higher fencing - just further back, it effectively prevents anyone sitting/standing on the outside of the hairpin right at the top of the hill (although it is only the very top of the hill effected - there is still plenty of space up there where you can view from).

As ever good to meet some more of the tenths posters in the flesh too

Thoroughly enjoyed myself again on Saturday.....Tried extra hard so as not to of been too shown up by all the Super Mods.

I ended up breaking my suspension going through the chicane. I think I got completely airborne on more than one occasion

It was quite cool to be sat on the grid with Jos Sterkens and Michael De Keersmaecker though. If only I had more money!!!!!

Thanks again to everyone involved and especially all the marshals for braving the cold Kent air.

Sorry I couldn't come and play guys - once again it was my weekend with the kids.

However I shall most certainly be down for the Euro meeting - hopefully with a friend of mine who looks far better in overalls than I ever did.

Right - where can I borrow some probans for a curvy young lady......??

Could you persuade him to have a go at Tin Tops. Two Escorts (him and Nigel Craig) would be good.

I was a guy in the crowd! I did see a bloke walking round (in a bib) with a fairly hefty camera, but I didn't actually see him filming.

Nothing wrong with that! On the subject of the Mk2 it was great to see it out there on the track. One of my dream weekend cars right there (along with the mighty RS200!) - I was afraid someone was going to clip you at some point!

The turbo chatter is nice (I assume thats compressor stall from the turbo chargers - as the supercars don't have wastegates fitted?), but the (noise) highlight of rallycross is, at least for me, the supercar starts. Yeah, I'm a big kid, but excessive noise and flames: it doesn't get any better then that!

This seems the thread to ask, but could someone clear a mystery up for me? I'm led to believe that, at some point in the recent past, one of the Ford magazines did a feature on the Fiesta ST that is currently run by the Dorans. Does anyone have any idea when/where this article appeared? I'd love to know how they went about converting the car to 4wd, the engine in the car... etc.

I spoke to Pat about this on Saturday. Basically his Fiesta uses all the running gear and engine from the Ford Escort Cosworth he bought a few years ago. The one which Liam used on Saturday is the ex-Dermot Carnegie car, which was originally a Focus 4wd.

Ah, interesting. An Escort Cosworth seemed a logical base for a car like that. I think those Rallycross Fiesta ST's are mental little cars, with the flared arches and the silly amounts of power they have a sort of Group B presence to them (if that makes sense?).

I was standing next to Pat for a while on Saturday; I would have asked him about the Fiesta, but I was too busy staring longingly at his RS200!

Carnegies Focus used the running gear from his Escort so that's seen some action now!

Not me at the wheel - I usually sit in the passenger seat. I was distinctly nervous every time there was another car in close proximity! (although to be fair I think we've been closer to other cars on rally stages)

Some great shots in there. I don't seem to be able to link to the picture, but the RS200 picture IMG_0158.JPG is especially good. I was trying to get a decent action shot of the RS200 throughout the day, but neither my viewpoint, nor my camera, were up to the job!
