I'll let Stig reply to my last question but I also wanna post my next track.

La Chataigneraie, a real place in France in the Pays de la Loire district. It's not too remote either as the closest main centres are La Rochelle, Nantes, Poitiers and Angers ao if it were real, it wouldn't be too hard to get a decent crowd for the bigger meetings.

Elevations: Most of the track is flat, but T2 is downhill and rises again slightly up towards T5. Some smaller but not significant drops and rises from T5 -T10. T11 &12 are uphill and then it drops down towards the S/F straight for another tour. I should also mention that the elevations that I've given are not based on real terrain. Enjoy.

Looks like a caricature for Spa

This one looks great, especially for bikes, I guess Luiggi would die to race on it

One small issue: with that rather fast big-radius ultimate turn I guess the vehicles will negotiate T1 at tremendous speed - maybe a bit bigger gravel trap would be useful there.

Anyways, another great track, another time today my two thumbs fly up in the air

I found it kind of out of place with the theme of the track. Just an opinion.

Anyway, about La Chataigneraie. I really like it, it has an old school look to it. Reminds me of Sao Paulo, and that track produces great racing (especially last season's F1 finale!)

Just one question: what does the brown outside of turns 9 and 10 and 12 and 13 represent?

It represents an unseated spectator area, much like Brocky's Hill at T9 Albert Park. A spectator mound if you will.

With Sao Paulo, I received the 2008 F1 review on DVD and with last year's Brazilian GP, although I knew the result, it was nail-biting to watch and it got the heart rate up a bit. Weird stuff.

Thx for the comments.

Nice track, nothing wrong with it. Exept for the location. It is quite close to Le Mans, so there might not be a need for the track anywhere else.

Double post.

Time for a new one.

This is Starick Hills International Circuit. Should be pretty self-explanatory. Enjoy.

Nice track, good middle part of the lap... nothing particularly wrong with any of it.... except that Turn 17 just seems out of place like that, it's too much of a 90 degree corner, wich breaks the flow for me.

What about making it in to a sweeper akin to the old configuration of the Circuit de Catalunya?

T17 stays. That was part of my original idea in my head, a steep rise to the top then a simple 90 degree turn to finish off, it's not too tight so as not to ruin the rhythm. Thank you BTW, much appreciated.

Great Track!!! Has some real nice flow. Keep up the good work. I never seem to have any complaints with what you come up with.

Wow I really like this one. It has a good blend of being a "racers track" and a "drivers track". Good work.

It looks very Australian

I don't know what it is but for some reason, I can often guess a circuit creator's nationality by looking at the circuit. The Americans like technical circuits, the Brits like fast circuits, whilst the Australians like flowing circuits with a few technical bits thrown in. I think the circuits where you live must influence your design tendancies

Yes, I am Australian. Sometimes I use elevations from around Geraldton (there are many elevations here) and use them in my tracks, but I didn't in the case of Starick Hills.

Not to be pedantic or anything but the closest proper race track to me is In Perth (Barbagallo Raceway) 400+kms away. Tracks around the world are a good reference for elevations for me.

I'm not necessarily talking about elevation changes, though. I mean the layout in general - it has a great flow to it. One sweep leading into the next - very Bathurst

It seems like I've been away for a while.

La Chataigneraie: Wow! What a blot shape! The left half of the design could be the face of a childrens comic hero.

The final loop of infield might be a using up a little too much paddock space for Bernie's taste, though, but apart from that, the flow of the track is OK.

Sorry Selby, I don't have the capability of such magic (I wish), and I would lose patience with the many things that would need to be done in order to come up with something in Sketchup or something like that. That's why I do mine with pencil and paper, it's not stressful and I enjoy it.

I may not be able to post any more tracks for now because I have a seperate account on our computer now and my stuff (favourites, files including my precious tracks) hasn't been transferred over yet.
