Thanks! I'm interested to know what make the engine is-the only engine that I can think meets those specs off the top of my head would be Audi and Jaguar-that is if its a production engine and not a pure race engine like the Judd in the Mosler.

Motul GTR(#23) slowed down.
It is a cause that the tire debris hit the cutoff switch on the bonnet!

Why didnt I look there first? Thanks.

What a finish at Sugo! 25 thousandths of a second! Reminds me of when a similar finish happened between two Supras some while back at the same track.

Great to see the Shiden win in GT300 too.

Masaaki Bandoh(Chairman of GTA) referred the regulation unification affairs with DTM at a press conference in SUGO.
He met Mario Theissen in Tokyo on May 18.
Theissen said that BMW was examining the motorsport activity on the union regulation done in Japan, Germany, and the US.
JAF and GTA act aiming at the technical regulation union in 2015.
The member of JAF inspected DTM(round 4), and they made some proposals ITR.
JAF and GTA think that regulations concerning the engine will become problems.
Bandoh says that ITR has the intention that executes the union regulation from 2015 in 2012.
Japanese manufacturers don't have clarified image about the exchange of DTM and S-GT yet.
So Bandoh appeals to them to use S-GT more positively as a marketing tool.

Can anyone point me to some ballpark budgets to run a full season GT300 effort?

A part of top team has spent 80 million yen or more.
If the result is not asked, it might be enough by the half the price.

Thats cheaper then I thought, although I'd bet good money that the big three in GT500 spend a lot more. I read somewhere years ago that Nissan spend more on Super GT then a factory WRC effort-would that be possible?

I take it that 80million yen per year excludes purchasing the car? Do you know a ball park figure for a GT500 or GT300 car?

One would think at about 1 million that it would not include the car.

No it wouldnt, it would just be the budget to run the car over the year.

Great! I like Autopolis, what race will be replaced? I hope it's one of the 2 Fuji ones, it would suck not having Sugo or Motegi or Okayama.

But why only 8 rounds? I thought 9 was insuficient but 8? I think that really sucks. It gives no chance to teams that are having bad luck (like Motul GTR or ARTA HSV this year) since that are not enough races to recover some ground.

If it's not possible to add more events/rounds Why don't they just make 2 races per round with the existing ones? first race on saturday and the second race on sunday, practice on friday! It's a no brainer. And give both drivers of each team the oportunity to shine, i.e. first driver takes first full race and the other driver takes the 2nd race. I think it sucks (in the current format) having one driver in a team doing a great job in the first stint only for his teammate to fail miserably in the 2nd stint, ruining a great result for the team, and vice-versa. That must be very demotivating for a racing driver.

Samurai did you watch the race? Could you please tell me what happened to Izawa (Raybrig HSV) when he run off track? Was that a spin without touching other cars? (Izawa spins a lot doesn't he?).

Oh I almost forgot, the incident between ARTA-HSV and Petronas-SC430. What really happened there? who caused the incident? was it Firman? See in this video at 1:13. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tAUnb44qcg
In the first incident (ARTA-HSV/Kraft-SC430) it was clearly Oshima in the SC who was at fault as he didn't leave enough space forcing Firman to cut through the grass, but in this 2nd incident it's impossible to tell who's the culprit as obviously this video only shows the end of the incident.

Izawa tried to pass the GT300 car, went out to the dart, and did spin.
He commented that it was his mistake.

Firman pushed Lotterer from behind, and Lotterer did spin.(Lotterer's comment)
But no penalty for Firman.

Thanks

Firman needs to calm down. I think he's getting increasingly frustrated with so many poor results/crashes (most of it not his fault) that it's making him impacient & overly agressive.

Racing Views updated an interesting article about Honda GT/FN engine.
The engine of Super GT(HR10EG) and the engine of Formula Nippon(HR10E) are basically the same.
The engine of FN limits the rotational speed with ECU while the engine of S-GT adjusts the performance with air restrictor.
The engine of Honda differs from the engine of Toyota, and has installed the cam gear train at the front.
A heavy cam gear train was located at the front because it had given priority to use to Formula car by Honda.
