We have a new neighbour who has a Renault Spyder, always liked those, I think I'm going to ask him if I can have a sit in it!

Also I would add that there appear to be a few footballers living round here at the moment so it's a daily show of Ferrari's, an R8 and a Gallardo

Back last year, I was driving home down the M3 about 6PM and saw a car I kind of recognised coming in the opposite direction.

It took a moment to realise it was a Bugatti Veyron...

What was even more remarkable was that right behind it was an identical car, down to the burgundy and black paintwork...

Not my favourite car, but quite possibly the most remarkable car related sight I've seen 'just driving around'.

M.

You're repeating yourself marcosgt, see page 22...
....unless you saw them both twice or, even better, a different pair!

I saw an Orange Mclaren F1 LM on Swiss plates back in 2000 just cruising along the M40 past the NEC...... even at 60MPH it sounded Feckin' Awesome!!!

Had an F40 pass me away from the Kufstein boarder back in '92, must have been doing in excess of 180MPH, and about the same in Db!!

Apart from possibly in Perth I'm guessing the closest would have been the ill-fated example in the CannonBall Run years ago!

Similar to marcosgt's story (and possibly repeating myself also!), a couple of years ago I saw a De Tomaso Mangusta at a car show. Now these are seriously rare cars, with only 400 ever made, so it was quite a surprise to see a car I never thought I would. Once I got over my surprise and initial examination of the car, I realised there was another beside it!

I also see several TVR's every day but then I work down the road from a TVR dealer. Occasionally there is a Ferrari something hoovering past (anyone else think they sound like a Dyson?!)

Although TBH, for me, something special is usually a really nice Jap sports car. On that note, I did see a Nismo 270R a while back (for those who don't know, 50 of these were made - based on the 1994 Nissan 200sx S14 with quite a few tweaks) Fantastically rare cars - I've seen more Ford GT's than 270R's!

Why did they call it R8? To me the Audi R8 is the Le Mans winning car that came before the R10... so why isn't the road car called R9 or R11 or R anything but 8 or 10????
