And if you read the TcT article, then they are planning to develop the next generation 3-series to S2000 in 2012 for privateers. They're doing as BMW have always done, building off-the-shelf racers for customers, no matter what the works team is doing.

The rumour that someone is looking at entering A4 Audi's in the BTCC is true..

Although there is another rumour that says it is unlikely to happen..

Another team looked at entering Audi A4's in the BTCC back in 2007. Audi put a block on it!

People seem to think these deals are done and dusted in a week. From deciding what cars to run upto making an announcement! It doesn't work that way..

Look at Volvo, they been trying to get back into the BTCC for the past three years, and still haven't suceeded..

Audi put a block on it? Can't I go down my Audi dealer buy a brand new A4 and build it to NGTC spec (I know it's not the ideal way to do things but you know what I mean)

Presumably they didn't want competition for Seat back then.

Perhaps Volvo would succeed if they put more money into the project.

They can float a bank loan for that... no problem. Assuming Motorbase are OK from a corporate perspective, the banks are happy to lend on assets... even in today's liquidity drought.

On the Motorbase site, they have six Porsches listed for sale. Caine's car is £82,500.
