it really depends on what you mean by "track":

30 miles from Road Atlanta AND Lanier Speedway (3/8 mile asphalt oval); they are across the highway from each other.

Peachstate Speedway (1/2 mile Asphalt Oval) is closer, 25 miles.

Winder-Barrow Speedway (3/8 mile Clay Oval) is closer at 20 miles.

The now closed Athens Speedway (1/4 mile? Clay Oval) WAS even closer at @ 5 miles.

numerous other clay ovals are scattered about...and there is a bigtime drag strip somewhere close too.

as a side, Brands was the closest track to the airport where i landed on my one and only visit to the Motherland...so it was straight to the track from the airport; only stop was for gas or petrol (whatever you want to call it), and a pint at the Brands pub.

Brands Hatch -- 10 miles/15 mins; which is probably why I marshal 90% of the car events there.

Good old Bovingdon, I started racing there over 30 years ago and I am amazed it has survived. You must live pretty close to me as that is my closest if short circuit venues are included in this thread.

Bovvy was only re-openeed a few years ago actually, it was closed for many years. And did you know Aldershot has recently re-opened aswell?

You can't beat a track that can boast a prison as one of it's features to look at!!

To be fair I dont really go to long tracks much anymore unles I am watching bikes.

I only go circuit racing to watch historics as the cars interest me. My initial interest in circuit racing waned a long tiem ago when I realised that it's rubbish!! lol

Closest track as the crow flies would be Brands maybe, but Silverstone by road.

A couple of hours walk, an hours leisurely cycle ride or half an hour on the Air Line Shuttle from Donington. But not today for BSB.

Silverstone, Rockingham both within 30 min drive, Donington 1hr, Snetterton 90 mins, Brands and Thruxton 2hrs.

Northamptonshire is a very convenient place for Motorsport.

Mallory Park isn't that far either, but I have never been
