I too have raced on 5... Silverstone shouldn't be on the list, only Becketts/Maggots has any interest. Brands GP is 10 times more of a challenge/ spectacle. Monza is quick but similarly to Silverstone doesn't really excite as a driver or watching.
Monaco was the most incredible to drive and the most impressive for the spectators given how close they are to the cars. Hustling into casino square is something quite incredible and completely different to anywhere else, ditto the tunnel. Spa is an incredible challenge, pouhon, blanchiment then Eau Rouge all look like they could kill you each lap (and 2 out of 3 of them probably can...) and as such probably gets my vote as the best drivers circuit. The Nordthingy is just too dangerous to race on sensibly/flat-out and I've never had the pleasure at Bathhurst or Laguna although from the hours watching enduros I think Laguna would probably get the nod for non-European. Le Mans I'm told by friends (who have 10 24h's between them) is a bit boring for the driver in daylight, so I guess it's Monaco for spectacle and spectators, Spa for challenge narrowly beating Brands GP... how's about that for hedging bets? |

I don't think you can really put Indy in with all of the other road courses. The brickyard has a totally different appeal.
The Nordschleife is possibly the best of all, it has corners of all sorts, from tight to fast, ones which make you go "oooohhh" like Eau Rouge, flat out blasts, ball testers, etc... It's a driver's circuit. Probably the ultimate, that's still in use. That's my thruppence worth. Rob. |

Brands Hatch, Oulton, Cadwell,Combe are all great tracks. Spa is okay, but not really that special, well not to me anyhow. It IS very wonderfull, but a lot of corners are not that special. The old Eau Rouge, now THAT was a real challenge, dangerous as hell however, but fun once you left it behind you in one piece, the stone wall came very close. Blanchimont lost a bit of it's challenge thanks to the new Busstop, shame! The old Ring is probably still the most challenging and still the most dangerous track.

Absolutely the Ring (Nordschleife), Schwedenkreuz was (is) the absolute terror.
Oh, by the way Mr. Mallett, nice to see you race a proper racecar. |

Oh really, do I? Used to have one, not a Citroen or a Maserati that is. Group 1 3.0 Capri, mmmmm, nice. More flies on the side windows as on the windscreen.

Right, I've chosen Indianapolis, sure, it only has four turns but the history and atmosphere is a winner.
Plus it hosts one of the best races off all time......*drums roll* The Indianapolis 500, also the big NASCAR and F1 race each year. Don't get me wrong though Suzuka also has a special place in my heart. |

Spa, as I've raced there
I drove a few laps of Bathurst a couple of weeks ago . . . .its a public road, and I have to say its amazing, these two are definitely in the worlds top 5 circuits, Oh, also Brands GP and Oulton Park should be up there as well |

I can't vote for just one circuit, so I shall probably abstain.
Oulton Park and Brands GP are probably the best circuits in the UK, certainly better than Donington and Silverstone. Suzuka should definitely be on the list, as should Macau. I can't remember when, but I remember Martin Brundle saying the best three circuits in the world were Spa, Suzuka and Macau. I imagine he was listing the ones he had raced on. |

This is a tricky one, Donington is good, Brands Hatch and Oulton Park are brilliant. The Nordschleife is... well.. legendary. The old Spa, well just look at it! I think Suzuka is the best on the current F1 calendar.
It's too difficult, each circuit has it's own unique parts, and i find it too difficult to choose just one. |

Nordschleife all the way, even though I've only driven it 5 times in a 1.4 Civic and the other 5 times in a rented 1.0 VW Fox!
One day, I will take a decent engined car and see how fast it could go round or some nice gentleman lets me race his car at the 24hr race. Any offers? Knockhill is my home circuit, the only other UK circuit Ive driven on is Mallory and that is not a patch on KH! |
