No doubt the best qualifying lap in F1 qualifying history.

I love the way it works around the Monaco qualifying with the only thing that is not good for the sport is a penalty for the McLaren of JB
I love the fact that Kimi is the poleman and the Merc of Lewis being one of the ones that have not made the top ten is the way the unpredictability is part of the sport |

clearly the greatest of all time!
quali was really good though and great to see Kimi on pole....first pole in nine years? did i hear that right? has it really been that long? curious to see what , if any, team strategy Ferrari will use boost SV's lead in the championship. |

Well lets hope their tactic is to make sure those two do not take each other out at the first corner, can't see either of them giving an inch if left to make their own choice.

Would McLaren have been better to not run Button in Q3.
Vandoorne was faster in each practice and quali session so I think would be classified in 9th in Q3 if both McLaren's didn't run. I think it would have let Vandoorne start 11th rather than 12th (assuming no further penalties). Only 1 position gain but it might make a big difference. |

Lewis' problem for me is the differential. Needs less power lock and free it up on the coast a little, probably less preload too. Toto, my rates are very reasonable, let me know if you need me to consult, $500 an hour, ill await your contact.

Looking forward to this one...Should be good. I feel all we are going to hear though is Lewis's radio with a lot of moan, "I have no grip". ..Max I think is going to be fearless again. Vettel should win. What are Ferrari going to do with a Kimi/Vettel scenario?

Is Bottas having the same problem?

Should the barrier on the exit of the swimming pool be renamed 'Rookie Barrier'?

JB to start from pitlane, after McLaren decided to change the set-up on his car.

Feel for Button. No point coming back when McLaren have just used a stack of part replacements up on him. He won't be able to do anything in the race but follow other cars. You can't not penalise him though for taking brand new parts because then it's not fair on the other teams in regards to the constructors championship. Otherwise you'd get a team that just runs a different driver for every race and turns the engine to absolute maximum so that it only lasts 1 GP. Last edited by Razzzor; 28 May 2017 at 11:27. |

lol poor Button. They try a mad strategy to get some clean air, and Sauber did the same thing and then cut him off in the pit lane. Nae luck.

I just wonder if pitting Vettel second, he will keep the lead?

Not sure what Buttons strategy has achieved. Stopped early and then stopped with everyone else anyway.

Some top laps by Vettel there. Although obviously an outrage and I'm never going to watch the sport (if you can call it that) again.
Some good laps by Ricardo too. I think we know who is number one at that team. |

Verstappen probably could have done those same laps had he been left out. They just decided to take the risk and try to give him some clean air since Bottas was holding him up, and it failed because the team let him down on the pit stop (again for Monaco).
What about his comments to the team afterwards, eeek. Re Ferrari, I don't know if they did that on purpose to put Vettel ahead. They couldn't really count on Vettel suddenly going almost 2 secs faster on 40 lap old ultra softs. Kimi was doing some of his best laps on the new tyres I think, but Vettel is in another zone. |

SC out. Looks like one of the Saubers is up against the barrier just before the tunnel.

Well I think Alonso might have preferred if Button really had just wee'd in his car, rather than crashing it.

I love you JB, and am a sure you were frustrated being stuck behind him, but that was a bit optimistic! Thankfully it looks like Wehrlein is ok.

Ericsson, that was pathetic. Vandoorne, that wasn't much better.
