Minardi say that the FIA report, which announced they would be testing Cosworth engines in Valencia, was wide of the mark.

Although Paul Stoddart has been in talks with Cosworth all summer to find a replacement to his Asiatech engine, a deal has yet to be confirmed (despite what the FIA say).

When Minardi turn up to test at Valencia in November they will not be running a 2002-spec Cosworth engine. Instead, the team will be taking along a 2001 chassis, similar to that tested by Bryan Herta at their Thunder In The Park event in August.

The PS01D, will be fitted with the European V10 engine which the team ran during the 2001 season.

The Valencia test will be used to assess car systems, such as electronics, and also run various drivers. A team spokesman confirmed that Sergei Zoblin, would be one of those involved.

Yes. It was picked up by most sites because the FIA released it. Why would they do that?
