Ric had a hub failure and Michael had a head gasket go.
Yes it was a great pity about Peter's car, I spoke to his brother today and Peter is a bit sore and the car looks quite bad but he thinks it is fixable. Bob thanks for the comment it is appreciated, hope your day went well. |

I was hoping to get a shot of all the cars on the grid but I should have realised that it was straight out from the pits and on to a rolling start-did get some after the red flag however. I'm not sure if I got the shot of the collision or not entering Paddock-I rememmber 3 cars all looking very close and then Thurston's being knocked sideways but it was difficult to tell exactly what happened. I did get some shots of the shunt from just past post two but there was so much dust as he hit the tyre wall that it was impossible to see what was happening...me cower...never!

That's really bad news that Peter is out for the rest of the year - but it was a nasty shunt and I was just glad to see he was Ok. You may not have cowered Baz but I did - it was looking a tad too close for comfort at one stage - especially having to flag from IN FRONT of the new safety fencing as it's the only way you can see!!

Good day's racing - thanks FSaloon boys Nice to meet Garry even though it was rather brief, and I'm gutted that lovely Escort was so badly damaged and that so many cars had to drop out. Still, at least it's only metal that's hurt, and that can be repaired.
I'm looking forward to the next time I can get to an FSaloons race - you can't beat a grid full of big thundering tin tops |

Gary
We were half good, my son was fourth, but I had an electrical problem and didn't get out at all on Sunday. If I can't sove an electrical problem in something that simple then how difficult must it be in cars like yours. |

Nice to meet you Maisie good to put a face to a name, sorry I didn't speak to you at length but i was running around quite a bit.
I spoke to Peter today, he is slightly sore but will fix the car and will be racing again as soon as he can. The TV crew that were there are from a little company that will be making a promtional video for the club which should be ready in approx 4 weeks time. Bob, shame about you not getting to race, electrical problems are always a nightmare. I do not know if our cars are really that more difficult electricaly then any other race car but then I know nothing about electrics. |

Glad I came up, it was a good clean fun meeting from where I was standing (obs on post 22).
Some exciting manouvers on the later laps of the second race made the crowd behind us (there were 5 spectators)wild. ..and Gerry doing parade laps brought back a few memories. Have some pics of Baby Bertha passing the post, but not had time to scan them yet - and they won't be as good as yuors Baz. |

And here is Gerry Marshall with the painting (by our very own Andrew Kitson I believe) that was presented to him during the lunchbreak:

Racegypsy, you never know-I aint perfect...only nearly! I might have to lend some of my pictures to someone to put on the site as I wont be able to until about Christmas time when hopefully I'll have a scanner and a computer that isn't steam driven! (Oh, and some money to get the films developed!!)

Gerry is ( I think) pictured with a framed photo of my painting. The original was presented to Dennis Carter at the BARC by the Formula Saloons Car Club. Can you confirm Garry?

Great Pictures Redshoes! And nicely classified! I was in the BMWs, won Class C, my Dad races in Class A, but couldn't keep up the family standard and finished 3rd. But I get to watch the Formula Saloons, which is always frentic to say the least!
